Disney Lorcana has a quirk that catches out players coming from other card games: the rarest cards in a set carry a number higher than the total number of cards in that set. It is not a misprint — it is how the game marks a card as sitting "beyond" the official collection. Understanding that detail is the quickest way to avoid paying a common card's price for a rare one, or the other way round.
Each main Disney Lorcana set contains 204 cards. Enchanted cards, however, are numbered from 205 upwards: they are "hidden" cards that sit beyond the official set count — what other games call a Secret Rare. So if you see a number above 204, you are looking at an Enchanted.
Every Enchanted is the alternative-artwork version of a card that already exists in the standard set: same character, same gameplay function, but completely different art (often full-card, without a frame) and a different rarity symbol. That is why two listings can show "the same card" at prices miles apart.
The game has eight rarity levels across packs and decks, plus promotional cards. Enchanted sit at the top and their pull rate is very low: indicatively one per 96 packs, which is a full four-box case — not one per box. It is an average, so one box can have none and another two. That scarcity alone explains why the secondary market for these cards is so out of proportion with the rest of the set.
The Enchanted from the earliest sets are the ones that have reached the highest values: the Elsa - Spirit of Winter Enchanted from the first set (The First Chapter) has hit three-figure sums on the secondary market. As always in collecting, though, value depends heavily on condition and on the moment: compare several listings before buying rather than stopping at the first.
Lorcana numbering uses the fraction form, like Pokémon and Magic: "42/204" means card 42 of a 204-card set. When comparing prices, type the number alongside the character's name: that is what separates one specific card from every other version of the same character released in later sets.
If the card is shipping from another customs territory, remember that shipping, import duty and VAT or sales tax come on top of the listed price — on an expensive single card that difference weighs heavily on the real total.
