Since 1 July 2026 the EU has no 150 € duty-free threshold. Every parcel from outside the EU pays a customs duty of 3 € per item when the goods are worth up to 150 € (Regulation (EU) 2026/382, art. 2), the ordinary customs rate of the product above that, and VAT on top of everything. Type price and shipping: the calculator applies the rule in force today — the same code that computes every total on Crossave.
| Item price | 80.00 € |
| Shipping | 10.00 € |
| Customs duty 3 € per item | 3.00 € |
| VAT (Italy) | 20.46 € |
| Real total at your door | 113.46 € |
EU flat 3 EUR customs duty (rule in force since 1 July 2026, shipments under 150 EUR) + VAT. Note: the courier (DHL/UPS/FedEx...) may charge a separate customs clearance fee (roughly 15-30 EUR per shipment, varies by carrier and service), not included in this total.
Is the 3 € per parcel or per item? Per item in the consignment: two items of 40 € each pay 6 €. The 150 € limit is on the total intrinsic value of the consignment.
Does shipping count towards the 150 €? No: the threshold looks at the goods' intrinsic value. Shipping enters the base of VAT (and of the percentage duty above 150 €).
Is the calculator the same for every EU country? The duty rule is EU-wide; VAT is the destination country's rate (22% in Italy, 19% in Germany…). Type the two-letter code.
Why do you show "n/a" sometimes? When we do not have an official figure for that origin, category or destination, we write n/a instead of inventing an average. Zero and "we don't know" are different statements.
Until when? The 3 € flat duty runs until 1 July 2028; then the ordinary rates return with the EU Customs Data Hub. This page follows the code, so it will change on that day.
